  • 3 large apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Madhūka Powder

For the Crumble Topping

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and diced
  • Additional 2 tablespoons Madhuka powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon Madhuka powder. Toss gently to coat the fruit evenly.
  • In another bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and 2 tablespoons of Madhuka powder. Add the diced butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Pour the fruit mixture into a greased baking dish. Spread the crumble topping evenly over the fruit.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit mixture is bubbly and tender.
  • Let the crumble cool slightly before serving. It can be served warm or at room temperature, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
